Fish advocates decry federal support of Shawmut Dam on Kennebec

Fish advocates decry draft federal report saying Fairfield’s Shawmut Dam should not be shut down. Conservation groups are at odds with a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s draft environmental assessment showing that decommissioning the dam is not a reasonable alternative to relicensing it.
