- Louie Porta, founder of Oceans North, has been appointed as the new president and CEO of the Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF).
- Porta succeeds Bill Taylor, who is retiring after 29 years of leadership at ASF.
- Porta has a strong background in marine conservation, including establishing a large national marine conservation area off Baffin Island and serving as a senior advisor to the International Institute of Sustainable Development.
- Eric Roberts, Chair of ASF’s U.S. board, expressed confidence that Porta will continue expanding ASF’s programs, partnerships, and positive impact on wild Atlantic salmon.
