ASF suspends spring events

Mar 17, 2020

In response to the global public health crisis triggered by the coronavirus pandemic, the Atlantic Salmon Federation is taking steps to align with the advice of public health agencies to help limit new infections and reduce strain on healthcare systems.

We have decided to cancel or reschedule all in-person events until the end of May. This includes dinners scheduled for Moncton (March 28), Halifax (April 2), Charlottetown (April 16), Montreal (April 22), Fredericton (April 29), Toronto (May 6), St. Andrews (May 13), and St. John’s (May 20).

Our development team is working with the volunteer committees that help organize these events to explore alternatives like on-line auctions. We are also reaching out to individuals and companies that have purchased tickets or made donations for these events.

ASF has closed its offices in Chamcook N.B. and Brunswick, ME. All employees have been asked to work from home until further notice. We were prepared for this and it will not impact operations. Our people are still available by phone and email and programs are proceeding.

These are rare and challenging times. ASF is committed to doing our part to safeguard public health, our staff, volunteers, supporters, and members. We will ensure that the work of wild salmon conservation continues.
