Atlantic Salmon Federation has recently been named one of Canada’s top 100 charities by Charity Intelligence Canada.
Charity Intelligence analyzes Canadian charities for impact and efficiency and provides information free to donors. Over 340,000 Canadians use Charity Intelligence’s website as a guide when deciding where to donate, reading over 1.3 million charity reports last year. The complete list of five-star charities can be found here.
“Being among Canada’s top 100 charities is an important distinction for ASF Canada. With 40 employees and operations in Quebec and every Atlantic Canadian province, donors to ASF can feel reassured that their money goes where it counts; to on the ground conservation work, research and advocacy on behalf of wild salmon and wild rivers,” said ASF president Bill Taylor.
Achieving a five-star rating means ASF’s financial performance, accountability, and on-the-ground impact is among the best for charities in Canada. For 75 years, ASF has focused on conserving and restoring freshwater habitat for Atlantic salmon, protecting landscapes, conducting ocean research, and giving the community of people who care about wild salmon a voice.
