WFN Goes Coast to Coast to Highlight Fisheries Conservation -

DENVER and TORONTO- World Fishing Network, the leading entertainment destination and digital resource for anglers throughout North America, premieres the latest episode of its signature magazine format show, World Fishing Journal, with three new segments showcasing unique stories from across the angling community on Sunday, Dec. 7 starting at 11:30 a.m. ET, and again at 8:30 p.m. ET.

World Fishing Journal brings together a roster of talented sports producers to craft engaging, story-driven features based around the angling community and fishing industry on a monthly basis. Sunday's three segments include:

Atlantic Salmon Federation: The Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF) is a Canadian-based organization dedicated to the conservation, protection and restoration of wild Atlantic salmon and the ecosystems on which their well being and survival depend. Tracking and understanding the species is key to protecting them, and host Mark Melnyk looks at how the ASF and its programs are helping to restore Atlantic salmon populations to their historic levels after reaching a low point in 2001.

White Seabass: Across the continent, host Bill Boyce joins Pfleger Institute of Environmental Research (PIER) biologists in the field to gain insight on their continued research involving the much-beloved and important commercial species, the white seabass. The PIER team has several ongoing research projects focused on better understanding the movements, spawning dynamics and stock structure of white seabass - a croaker that attains sizes up to more than 70 pounds - off the California and Mexican coastlines. PIER is dedicated to the advancement of sustainable fisheries management and public education through applied field research, and the success of the white seabass in the region is a perfect example of those efforts.

Holiday Gift Guide: Hosted by Mark Melnyk, World Fishing Journal highlights some of the best gifts any angler would love to receive this holiday season. From tackle and tools to apparel, gadgets and must-have items, the holiday gift guide will take a look at the latest and greatest items that even the angler who has everything would want.
