MOSCOW. 23 Nov. – The border guards found on Board the research expedition vessel “Mikhail Somov” (owner – Northern Department for Hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring), almost 2 tons of illegally caught fish, reported Friday in the Border guard of FSB of Russia in the Western Arctic district.

The vessel was inspected in the port of Arkhangelsk on November 18. “As a result of the inspection on Board the vessel revealed illegally extracted fish of sturgeon, salmonids and whitefish species weighing more than 1850 kg,” – noted in the border. So, on a scientific vessel was found six Siberian sturgeon, 108 Atlantic salmon, whitefish almost 1.5 thousand, and also the container-the refrigerator and the fishing net.

“According to preliminary estimates, the damage caused to water biological resources of the Russian Federation amounted to more than 15 million rubles”, – stated in the message.

Currently, this fact is tested, its results will be a procedural decision.
