Northwwest River, Rocky River, Cape Roger River, Salmonier River
Location: Eastern Newfoundland
Report Date: July 29th, 2010

River Condition: Water levels were fairly good on most East Coast Rivers during the past two weeks and are currently medium to high.  Water temperatures have been warm but are now starting to drop.

River Run: Runs are up on North West River and Rocky River.  As of July 25 some 1017 have passed through the counting fence on Northwest River compared to the previous five year average of 808 fish for the same time period.  Runs have improved considerably on Rock River during the past two weeks and as of July 25 some 657 fish have passed through the counting fence compared to the previous five year average of 272 fish for the same time period.

Success: Anglers report a good sign of fish on the Salmonier River but because of warm temperatures they are hard to fly.  Reports from Cape Roger River on the Burin Peninsula indicate that fishing is fair with a few fish being caught each day but the main run appears late.
