More Convictions for Salmon Offences in NL

April 8, 2014 - Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador

Perry Coish and Gilbert James (Jim) Cull of Stag Harbour were charged with fishing Atlantic salmon during a closed time in the coastal waters of Newfoundland and Labrador. Mr. Coish was also charged with obstructing a fishery officer who was carrying out duties under the Fisheries Act. Penalties included $6,000 in fines and a two-year prohibition from being on coastal waters. Both men were convicted on March 5, 2014 in the Gander Provincial Court.
