Pickup truck, boat forfeited to the Crown

A Peterview man was recently convicted of netting salmon in inland waters last year, in violation of the Newfoundland and Labrador Fishery Regulations.

A news release from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, says the offence was committed at Peterís River, a scheduled salmon river, on Aug. 9, 2014.

Scott Curlew was convicted on April 10 in Grand Falls-Windsor provincial court and received a $3,000 fine. In addition, Curlew is also prohibited for three years from being on, at or near inland waters and a 1997 Mazda pickup truck, a small boat, seven salmon and 16 trout were forfeited to the Crown.
