DFO Gives NL Anglers More Input Opportunities

DFO Looks To Anglers To Weigh In On Salmon Management
October 4, 2018 |

Salmon anglers are being given a couple of extra opportunities to weigh in on the salmon management approach for next year.

DFO is holding two additional public meetings to provide anglers a chance to discuss measurement measures and to offer feedback on the recreational Atlantic Salmon fishery. They are looking to get input from anglers on the management approach for 2019.

The first meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn on Portugal Cove Road in St. Johnís on Tuesday, October 10th from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. The next will take place at the College of the North Atlantic in Grand Falls from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on October 30th.

The previously scheduled public meeting for October 11th at the Clarenville Inn will still take place from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m..

Salmon anglers across the province are being reminded to complete their Salmon Angling Log. DFO says angling log data is an important tool in the stock assessment process.

If you purchased a license and did not fish, it is important to let DFO know that.

DFO says if you did fish, please record your daily angling activity as accurately as possible.
