Grand Bank man banned from recreational fishing

Eric Stacey of Grand Bank has been fined and banned from recreational fishing.
The penalties come after he was found guilty Nov. 5 of two charges of attempting to jig Atlantic salmon in inland waters Nov. 5, angling in a scheduled salmon river using a line equipped with more than one hook and of being in possession of an untagged Atlantic salmon.
Stacey has six months to pay the $1,000 fine – $250 for each charge.
He is also prohibited from all recreational fishing in Canadian waters for 24 months and forfeited a rod, reel, tackle and one Atlantic salmon.
